3 Ways to Visually Appeal to New Customers

October 4, 2012

Visually appealing to customers is a must in today’s visually-focused digital world. It doesn’t matter if you’re a restaurant, hair salon, or real estate company. Products or services need to be presented in a visually appealing way. Here are some ideas for how to visually appeal to customers:

1. Instagram

I’ve talked about ways to use instagram to market your business. Don’t overlook this tactic and blow it off as a fad. In the restaurant and/or catering business? Take photos of your food presentations and filter away. Own a hair salon? Capture the final masterpiece on your iPhone. Apply a filter, distribute, and voila!

Of course, if the photo doesn’t look good after applying the filter, stop right there. Instagram doesn’t make everything magically beautiful. You still need to use your judgement.

One important tip with using instagram for your business: Use geolocation services to tag the location of your business. Your company will then appear on the photo map – which helps to get on the radar of potential new clients in the vicinity.  Note: I would not recommend using this service as an individual from the “safety” of your home – unless you want to broadcast your address. It geotags the location from where the photo is uploaded.

2. Pinterest

There’s no reason why your company shouldn’t be on this platform.

Don’t have original pins? No worries. Find others pins that match your brand and repin then. It’ll help to build your company’s brand identity.

3. Get an iPad

Gone are the days of hand-held photo albums to showcase your work. Get an iPad and upload digital photos to show potential customers. If you’re going to an industry event, you’ll need a bigger screen than the iPad provides. Buy a large monitor and an adaptor to go along with the iPad.

Digital photos send the message that your company can keep up with the times. Don’t let a competitor outshine you with technology.
