The recently did some crowdsourcing via an informal, voluntary survey. The answers are being used as a basis for a discussion hosted by the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics â an Executive Roundtable on Digital Media Ethics on December 5th at Santa Clara University.
Identifying and exploring ethical issues for digital journalists is an important topic and it’s something I think about daily.
I became a member of this organization a few years ago. I’m constantly inspired by this brilliant group of journalists.

There’s a fine line between news and opinion in today’s online world. I think most folks know the difference between news and opinion, but I also think there’s a need to differentiate between the two if it isn’t blatant. Direction is needed for our news-obsessed culture. Kudos to ONA for researching and discussing. I’m anticipating the results.
