My three words for 2014 are: Free. Alive. Expand.
The intentions of three words works for me because spontaneity sets in, and more magic happens everyday. This is one of the reasons why I don’t do resolutions.
Free.
I just can’t sit at a desk at all. Can you relate?
The thing is, work is no longer tied to an office or cubicle. Collaborating with colleagues and clients all over the world means that, for better or worse, being chained to a desk is a thing of the past. This new economy creates change and allows you to dream…big.
Being freed from a desk helps with creativity…because you’re more unfettered.

I believe in the potential of this collaborative economy. I believe in the power of meaningful connection, giving back, and the necessity for adventure in daily life.
How important is feeling “free” to you?
Alive.
You’re alive. But do you really feel alive? Or do you sometimes forget?
I feel alive when I get squinzies (!) and test my physical limits. This past year, I went surfing in Costa Rica, rode on horses through mountains, and hiked up a volcano. My goal is more “alive” in 2014.
I plan on going upside down for no reason at all in as many random places as possible (there’s some kind of award for this, right?)
Health isn’t always about being in a gym. It’s about feeling alive. And the added benefit of feeling alive is that you naturally look buff – not because you’re forced to lift weights or do cardio. But because you simply want to feel good. And when you feel good, you look good.
In 2014, I plan on feeling alive through physical fitness, speaking at events, and helping others create meaningful change.
Expand.
According to this Forbes article, mentally strong people embrace change and welcome challenge. I’m looking for continuous change. Change makes me uncomfortable. But when you’re uncomfortable, you can overcome fears, and you can expand into places and do things that you never thought possible.
Here’s to a beautiful start to 2014.
